Tour Plan
Depart from Fes in the morning and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane (known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”) and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might spot wild monkeys.
Enjoy lunch in Midelt, then continue through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, filled with palm groves and fortified villages. Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon, where your camel trek begins. Cross the golden Erg Chebbi dunes and reach your desert camp in time to watch the sunset. Enjoy a traditional dinner, live Berber music, and a peaceful night under the stars.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the Merzouga region. Visit the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people known for their spiritual music, and meet nomadic families living in traditional tents.
Discover fossil areas, seasonal lakes (if present), and panoramic views of the desert. In the evening, return to the camp or choose a guesthouse stay in Merzouga for more comfort.
After breakfast, depart for Rissani, a traditional town with a bustling souk and strong cultural heritage. Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossils and date production, then head to the spectacular Todra Gorges, where 300-meter-high cliffs tower above a narrow river.
Walk through the gorge before traveling along the Dades Valley, known for its winding roads and beautiful rock formations. Dinner and overnight in a hotel or guesthouse in the valley.
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Fes. Pass through the scenic Valley of the Roses and Ouarzazate, known for its film studios and ancient kasbahs. Continue through Midelt and the Middle Atlas Mountains, arriving in Fes by the evening—filled with unforgettable memories of the Moroccan desert.
